What's wrong the original monitor chassis and CRT?
If you are going to all the effort of restoring the cabinet, etc. and making it look great, should be able to find a nice 19" CRT.

Seriously with all the hate? Original is shot. Scan lines aren't important to me.
Playing the actual game is more important and I don't ever want to have to worry about the monitor again.
You have way more faith in today's age of obsolescence than I do, if you think you'll never have to worry about the monitor again, by using a LCD. If you bulletproof the monitor you'll be fine.
