Hey yall. I just want to see everyones Mouse Trap high scoe. I hit 214,000 tonight. I thought that was pretty good, but I could be wrong. Im still waiting to [ost pics of my machine. Im waiting on some things to come in, I want it to be the way its going to b.

I easily can break 200K which I thought was pretty damn good. However, when at CAX in 2010 I put a 200K+ score on Mouse Trap then came back later and someone had 300K+...

200K is still a great score.

so funny to see this thread - I just banged out an all time high for myself last night at 213810! I even took a picture of the screen after the game. Probably one of the most favorite games in my collection!

A couple weeks ago, a guy named Kelly Tharp did a marathon of Mouse Trap for charity, ending with just over 64 million...looks like you guys got some work to do :D

Im getting there on the 200,000 easily. Im trying to get a real good high score so It will challenge my dad. He had the high scoe at the Indiana state fair back in 82. I have to agree so far its my favorite game also in my collection. I dont believe I will ever see 1,000,000. Lol. Thats is pretty crazy though.

Can't wait to get my Pepper II restored to complete the Exidy Row!

$275, gotta figure out the sound issue and give it a little tlc.

Carefully check the ribbon cable(s)... They are real brittle and reflow the solder on the main PCB ribbon cables (if they are soldered to the board). Mine had tons of problems and ended up getting a new board set and luckily the soundboard worked so I reflowed the solder on these cables (taking care to not break them off this time) and have been good since.

mousetrap sound

Had a tad of time to play with mine today, got the sound of the game working just with the volume pots, but no dog barking sound or hawk sound after playing with all 4 pots. On the sound board i found a chip that looks blow? Could this be why? Pic attached.

I'm pretty sure that chip just looks that way for some reason. Reseat all your socketed chips... I'd use a fiberglass pen to clean the legs and use contact cleaner on the socket "before" installing the cleaned chip.

You really think so on the chip? Can anyone confirm that. Sure looks blown to me. The metal pieces are sticking straight up and not making contact with each other. I will try and clean some contacts asap.

Where is the location on that chip? I'm 99% sure that Exidy used those ugly chips... I only know because I have the same dead looking chip and it turned out that it was fine and looks like that.

I've got that ugly chip on mine too. I was wondering if it was damaged as well. Looks like it's supposed to be that way since my Mousetrap is working.

By the way, what dipswitch settings are you guys using when you play Mousetrap?

The chip is not bad it's supposed to be that way. Actually I think it's basically a group of jumpers not unlike an unmoveable set of dip switches. You pretty much find these or a variation of them on all Exidy boards of the era. have seen them on plenty of other boards too.
