At what point is a game just too contaminated to be saved ? Where should the line be drawn for sheer health and safety reasons. I picked up a Centipede cocktail that is one of the worst I have seen or smelled . Never mind the 10 kazillion mouse turds, they peed on EVERYTHING. About the only things in it that did not suffer their wrath is the monitor and the main pcb. The AR-2 board is nasty, harness is nasty. One of the control panels has some kind of nest/corpse combo that has it "glued" to the cabinet. I tried to pull it away, saw the mass in there and balked. At least for now.

I was going to gut it and take it out on the drive way and hose it out and had to pause. Talk about gag reflex. Should I soldier on ? Kill it with fire ? Even if i parted it out, only a couple things aren't covered in pee. The game stinks like crazy.

What is a mother to do ?

Hose it out... as long as there's no meth, the game can always be saved.

My Domino Man was pretty awful. The worst part was that it was stored on its SIDE. So, the mice had full access to the cabinet top to bottom on the right side. They were living in the PCB stack. It was about the worst thing I ever had to deal with. It was sick and disgusting. I got through it, but it was not fun!

The best is when you're cleaning one out (a MK2 I had comes to mind) and when you're grabbing that piece of trash to throw away, you notice it's furry. uuurrrrgh.

A lesson I learned the hard way.....

If I get a cab that has any type or rodent smell it gets scrapped. I will not have those cabs in my shop, house or, heaven forbid, sell to a customer.

sadly got a Faster than Speed cabinet this past weekend, was really happy to get that game, side art was great, game was complete, bought sight unseen, get it home and pry open the back door and the entire cabinet was full of rat crap, chewed up paper, underwear, and every single wire had been eaten in the cabinet, at a guess was about an inch thick on the base of cabinet and that, needless to say the smell and the piss had rotted the wood, it was a lost cause, pulled the parts, and its sitting on the burn pile, I could not have this in my house :(

Seriously.... you need to be careful when cleaning up rat shit. In fact, do some reading about how dangerous rat shit actually is before embarking on operation rat piss-n-shit. It's not just simply vacuuming up the turds, spraying it with bleach and calling it a day.

I got a Asteroids machine that was mouse infested once. It was bad. A cab like that is trash. Part it and take the cab to the dump. You cant save them all!!

That seems a little extreme. What happened? Something bad?

My Punch-Out also had a mouse nest in the marquee. I think sanding, bleaching, Lysol, painting, sealing, vacuuming, etc. isn't too bad if you take your time and don't put your hands in your mouth while your doing it. :)

Depends on how bad the pee is!! If its saturated the wood its trash IMO!!

Can u say MRSA?

Rat turds carry all sorts of disease, MRSA being one and it is one NASTY infection.

I have an Atari Football cabinet that's been in storage for nearly 10yrs. At some point in the last few years, it became a rat home. The wood areas under the control panels and the bottom of the cabinet were LOADED with pellets. Stained wood, it smells, etc.. Fortunately, I guess, it was already a bit swollen and I'd planned on scratch building a cabinet for it. Aside from the monitor platform, it will get burned.

arc- really?

never ever ever ever ever ever everrr smash a cab.. are you slipping on me? :D

fix up that bitch on the double heh..

hoesstly yeah sometimes theres just a point when the end result will not be worth the battle. Its a sad day but at least the mouse piss soaked parts can live on in something else after a good long scrub.

I always at least try man, makes you feel a little better that way..

i would strongly reccomend something like this sprayed on http://www.google.com/products/cata...sa=X&ei=jNeDTpGKKcvngQevpchF&ved=0CH0Q8wIwAA#
, and use a mask and gloves while cleaning as well..
