Mounting standard monitor in Data East / Karate Champ cabinet

I have a Data East cabinet that had been Kung Fu master (the monitor had some light burn in from that game). It has a Sanwa 20I16DU monitor. The mounting frame is non standard (big square frame on front), seems to be custom for that cabinet. This monitor doesn't work, so I want to replace it with a standard monitor (either horizontal or vertical frame, or universal). I know I will have to bump up the input AC voltage into the monitor to 120v.

For those who have a common type monitor (WG or G07) installed into a Data East (Karate Champ style) cabinet, can you tell me how it is mounted in the cabinet?

Thanks,
Mike

I have a WG7602 in my robocop cabinet. Here are pics of how it's mounted...

Thanks for the reply and the pic! It looks like your mount was cut out from wood. I guess I'll have to see about having one made (I have virtually no woodworking tools - just a drill and a jigsaw).

"Universal mount" monitor frames would probably work the best. If the replacement monitor has a switching power supply section, it can run on 100 volts.

I'm getting ready to purchase a Robocop arcade machine that has a non working monitor. What replacement monitor should I get and where can I get it and lastly... what size is the monitor in Robocop?

You shouldn't get a replacement monitor. You should repair the broken one. The guys on this forum are great at troubleshooting. They've helped me out a bunch~!
