Mounting JAMMA Arcade Video Game Boards on Cuttingboards

What I am thinking I will do is hang the boards by the handle.

xpensive but not a terrible idea. I'd flip the boards around tho so the edge connector is by the handle, that would make placing the board easier once mounted, as well as give more room while protecting the edge connector and leaving room to grab the handle.

Not sure if that makes sense but i'm sure you'll figure it out or i'll show you one day when we hang out.

I'll stick to my used USPS flat rate boxes.

That might work well if you have a cab you want to swap boards in and out of. Do what you did... then drill 4 holes in the corners of the cutting board... mount 4 studs in the cabinet... you could then slide on the board use it... when you're ready to swap, disconnect the harness, slide the cutting/pcb off ... slide the new one on.

The only thing is that you could make your own rectangles like that out of ply or MDF for 1/10 the cost...

I guess you didn't watch the whole video, I show how I had put some of my boards on 1/4" plywood. Now the boards are on nice white nylon! pretty.

I get what you are saying, but edge connector is already protected by the edge of the cuttingboard.

i understand that, just saying you could get a little more length out of the cutting board if you flipped it. as well as the way you hold the handle the edge connector would already be facing you if you put it in non handle side first.

OK, just an update, now that I have my 6-in-1 switcher, I can cram some of these boards into my 25" Data East cabinet I have. Quickly cut a plywood shelf.

I will need to put in some ventilation for the PSU below the shelf. I figure I will use my hole saw and put two holes, one on each side and mount a PC fan blowing up on the boards.

I also need to make some brackets to keep some space between each board also.

As you can see I removed the coin box.

I still need to finish modiflying the 2 other extension harnesses and run the wires neatly. Oh and let's not forget to cap and replace the flyback in that K7000.
