Hello, all. I want to mount a t.v. tube by its bezel brackets. This means decasing and such, so I was wondering if there's any easy way to tell whether the t.v. would have a live chassis before buying it. Is there a manufacture date or something I should look for? Thanks in advance.

Your wording is kinda silly. The closest thing that I can come up with that I think you *might* be talking about is a tube swap. Swapping the tube from a TV to an arcade monitor frame complete with compatible chassis and yoke. In that case, you need to check the tube number, neck pin number and yoke impedance.

I'm not really talking about a tube swap. This is for a mame cab (don't flame, I restored a pretty busted up one :3 ). Connecting to a tv via svideo cable is cheapest/easiest option for me. the tube (decased) has holes that are used to mount it to its own case. I want to use those holes to mount that tv in a cab. Surprisingly, the thing fits exactly. Some tvs have "live" chassis, and require an isolation xformer, as far as I know...or read.

If you are just using a regular tv you plug into the wall normally, then all you have to do is plug it into the wall when you take the case off.

Yup, pull off protective case, you'll see the four corner spots were it attached to the frame. However, I've noticed that these holes never seem to match up perfectly with existing arcade cabinet mounting spots. Most the TV's I've hung in cabinets have drill/ hanging holes in the corners (much closer to the tube) than arcade monitors.

here's a picture I took of one of my 25" tv pulls. Notice how the chassis looks identical to what you'd see an any other arcade monitor. It just needs a safe home to rest in.

The next TV pull I'm doing, I plan on mounting it into a 25" arcade monitor frame so it is easier to mount
