I have a generic cab with a metal, two joystick control panel. I want to switch it for a single, centered joystick. Normally I would just out a piece of sheet metalin there, but I have a wooden control panel that was strapped to the bottom of the cab. But there are no holes so its perfect.
The only problem that I see is that my joystick (Sansa Jlw-tm8) has a short shaft. How much of the wood do I need to carve out and still retain strength? The wood is 3/4". I have seen that there is a 13mm extension for the shaft but is there a better way? Do they make longer shafts (3/4" longer) for the wood control panel mounting?
