Looks like there is some life in the old girl yet. Was told monitor no longer works, but after replacing caps and some de oxit in the pots she sprang to life. This is what I get with the TPG connected up. Asking the B/W experts what else I can do/check to get the screen better or is that it? Excuse the screen reflections. PCB still being repaired so not able to check.

That's a great starting point! Congrats!

It looks like you have a multiple image. Adjusting the horizontal hold should help that.
Vertical linearity is not right either.

But beyond that, you really can't tune the monitor correctly unless you have the game PCB connected to it.
Sunc frequencies vary from game to game and the luma levels vary too.

Once you have the game PCB back we can go further.

On some of these old games I've had to check and rejuvenate the tubes. Several have small internal shorts that the old Heathkit CRT tester was able to clear.

Well, she works, getting the brightness and contrast level is a problem. The pots are worn to a point both will send the screen black, adjusting has to be done 1mm at a time. Focus pot is dodgy as well have it fully anti clockwise. Those with keen eyes will notice the garbage at top of screen, another chip problem…IMG_3424.jpeg

That looks good! Congrats!

For better focus try reducing the contrast. Your whites are a little blown out. Flaky pots will make it difficult as you already know. But you should be able to knock it down just a little.

Great job so far!
