Motorola KV700 horizontal width coil

Remember: Only use a PLASTIC tool on these!

A few things in various combinations can help.

Be patient. .

Give it a WD-40 soaking. Let it sit for a few hours.

Heat the coil up. Running it for 15 -20 minutes should be enough.

Rock the tool slowly back and forth and BE GENTLE! The center slug is ceramic and it will crack if you force it.

Be patient.

That's a good point. It is flammable, even just the sitting liquid. So probably shouldn't be used on a whole chassis. When I have a stuck coil I usually remove it to work on then I properly clean it before reinstalling it.

I'm sure Deoxit will work as well. There is at least one variation that is flammable in liquid form but most aren't.

But the DeOxit propellant contains naphtha which is highly flammable. You need to wait at least 15 minutes for that to evaporate before it's fire safe.

Always read the MSDS first!
