Hi all,

My first post, whoohoo!

So I got this Motocross Go for free last weekend. Got it home plugged it in, everything fired up and worked great for a few days. Best free thing I ever got! We noticed that the bik had to be calibrated fairly often, thinking maybe it was too much maintenance to keep going.

Well maybe more, cause here's my problem now...The bike will calibrate fine in test mode, but as soon as we start the actual game- it wont read the leaning at all. It reads the gas, brake, and handle bars ok, but for some reason the game software isn't recognizing the bike lean. I have yet to go through and test connections on the boards, which it very well might be. Just thought Id throw this out there, see if any techs have experienced this on similar machines.

Thanks guys, love reading this board. Look forward to chatting more with you all. Oh and how the hell did I grab a Sinistar login?? I was thinking noway this is gonna be available :)

im wondering if theres a potentiometer mounted somsehwre to read the movement, or if its opto.. did it happen to come with a manual?

I own one as well and I can tell you for a fact that there is a standard 5k potentiometer located at the front of the bike towards the bottom where of course the hinging and leaning occurs. I'm guessing he needs to replace that.. There are manuals for download available. I have a standard version and the manual for that isn't on any sites. I did however email namco and they kindly sent me the PDF with no issues. Send me you email and I can shoot you the manual.. It's 10 megs..

Here ya go.. I am feeling nice. I attached a pic of the how to on changing it out..

Well, I will certainly check that. But if the potentiometer wasn't working, than why would I be able to calibrate it in test mode? I can see it reading the lean perfectly when i'm in test- its just the actual software that isn't reading it when i begin the game.

ok, i checked all the connections, everything seems to be ok. It still calibrates when in test, but then refuses to work in-game. Hmmm... kinda stumped...any other ideas of things I could check?

That is true, I had an issue with mine not saving the calibration settings but that was cmos battery related. Just a thought..

What is your email and I"ll email you the manual. It has a troubleshooting section and covers a few possible issues about banking and steering. Pretty much all of it points to the Pot though.. It gives direction on how to check the power going to the pots and says that a low voltage can cause an outage. Maybe your power supply is weakening? IDK, just trying to help.

make you you save when leaving after calibrating.....you have to save it

I wish that was the case, but I had flashing red letters that said cmos battery dead. The system was kind enough to tell me what the problem was. I mean it would save the settings until I powered down the system though..

Yeah, no save for this calibrate, just a countdown and an auto-save. Thing is, it was working just fine, one day turned it on though and that part just wouldn't work. I'm sure that's a common thing for most on this board heheh...
