MOTHER LOAD warehouse in my home town!! SCORED some grails!!

In our small town of about 15,000 people we have had a family owned bowling center for over 35 years. During this time, as you would expect, we have had pinball machines, pool tables and classic machines. I got to know the supplier quite well. About 11 years ago I asked him if he had a Punch-Out!! in his collection. To my delight he said "yes" and sold it to me for a mere $100. Just the other day I ran into him while out shopping with the wife. I asked him if he still had any machines left. His response, "well UNFORTUNATELY I have too many left to count!" Out of curiosity I asked if he would mind if I popped by some time. He said, "No problem! I have been out of the business for years now and had to get a REAL job to survive"

So.....today.....I had a chance to visit his warehouse. INSANITY!!! There must have been close to 500 machines including numerous pool tables, air hockey, and bubble hockey machines all in various condition. Everything from Jamma to the real classics. He realizes that he could make a lot MORE by parting them out rather then selling them complete but claims he doesn't have the time or desire to do so after being in the business for 25+ years.

So this summer he will be taking out a full page newspaper add to get rid of ALL of them!
NOT auction! Just, first come first serve basis. Surprisingly he does NOT want a fortune for this stuff. Luckily I got first dibs on selection. Made one hell of a deal for an nhl open ice, a fully functional coin operated 86 ultracade near mint! Trying to convince the wife that we NEED a bubble hockey. Hey....Im Canadian. Air hockey out of the question! Much too big for my house.

I have some pics. I am in the Okanagen area of BC - Canada and can keep anyone CLOSE to this area posted on what DATE he has in mind to unload all of these. Almost everything I listed he seemed to have had. Especially Jamma. Although.....he was clean out of cocktails. NOT a single one!!

I thought the pics were sideways at first. Nicely done. And yes, you NEED a bubble hockey. Those are hard to come by and sooooooo fun!

Am I seeing things or did he stack these things on their sides 4 games high? How did he accomplish that? I sure hope he didn't use a forklift, that would leave some serious scratches in the sideart.

NOPE the picture is NOT sideways my good man! It is how he had them stacked against the wall. Believe it or NOT the pic only shows the FIRST row. There is ANOTHER row of machines behind that! Yet 3 more rows behind me where I took the picture.

If you look closely, there are spacers BETWEEN the games so they are NOT resting on each other. The ones that do have side art seem to be in good visible condition. Like anyones collection. Condition of the machines vary

TONS of pins as well. However, pins are the one thing that he will NOT let go for cheap

Do yo mean Chexx super hockey. A great game that routinely sells for 1200 at auction. If I could get one for a couple hundred in good shape, I'd be on it like white on rice in a snowstorm. If he had a great deal of jamma boards, I have a list of ones I am looking for. Xexex is number 1 with a bullet.

Wow !!:001_ssuprised: that's the first time I ever seen games stored like that, had to do a double take on the photo to make sure I wasn't looking at it wrong.

Years ago, I bought a few games out of a warehouse like that and they were also stacked 4 high on their sides. We had to stand on other games to pick them off of them. It was awful, and of the course the sides got scratched up, but you can sure pack em in like that.

Very nice! Where in the Okanagen area? My Father-in-Law lives in Westbank (Kelowna) and we go there every summer... :D

What you should do is offer to help him clean them up, fix minor problems prior to sale, etc in exchange for certain cabs that you want...

So he has wood spacers between those stacked games? Were they stacked with a forklift then? Probably some damage to all of the sides unless he has some kind of padded forks and really took his time stacking them.

I'm guessing Osoyoos based on the population and a bowling alley. Oliver hasn't had one in years and I don't know of any other small towns with bowling allies in the Okanagan.

is this in Winfield? A friend gave me a lead about this warehouse, but I figured it was bullshit ....

Edit: Given a few phone calls, this is deep in the interior near the border!

My Domino Man was stored on its side, it's not good. Why? If there are mice in that warehouse the mice suddenly can get in all sorts of interesting places in that cab that they couldn't otherwise if it was vertical. Like, living between the stacks in the PCB that is mounted on the sidewall!! It's one thing to clean the mouse crap out of just the bottom of the cab, try cleaning it out of an entire side top to bottom! Storing on sides = not good!

Hey guys!

Its located in Trail (just east of the okanagen) about 2 1/2 drive from Kelowna. Small, small town that you would NEVER expect to find such a treasure. As far as stacking sideways, don't ask me why he did that? He claimed that just a week ago you could NOT even see his games due to the fact that there was so much freight in front and around his stuff. He is actually a big wig for the shipping company that has the warehouse. As far as mice....I have to say I have NEVER seen a warehouse so spotless in my life, its a fairly new building. If he damages any side art stacking I don't think he is concerned about it. Like I said, he just wants the stock out of his hair!!

I will keep everyone posted on the date. He was going to do this LAST summer but had so much freight around his stock that you couldn't breathe. His ONLY guarantee is that the machines he is selling will work and function 100% once they leave the warehouse. After that, don't call him for repairs!! Another reason why the games will go for cheap!

This pains me.....he even has a small stack of non working games headed to the dump :(
Just to give you an idea how much he cares about his stock. about a 1 on a scale from 1 to 10

Damn... I'm close(ish) and still have family living in the Okanagan, but have no room for more cabs. Does he have any parts in there? I can always find room for more boards... ;)

Shucks... That would be a 17 hour round trip for me... I'd really love to have a bubble hockey, though. Any idea how much he was trying to unload them for?

It pains me more that you won't grab them. Offer to save him a trip to the dump and get them out of there quickly!
