I gotta say that of all the games I have ever owned, my 4 player Demolition Derby has been the biggest pain to keep working. Ever wonder why you don't see these too often? Probably because most operators threw them out after many headaches! Seriously this machine has given me problems in almost every area...video, sound, controls, power supply...etc. It is the most unreliable game I've dealt with. Think about it, it is a MCR, has 4 optical spinners, 4 shifters, the dreaded power supply, and a separate sound board. Not to mention that this is all in a cabinet that will give you a stiff neck and back just trying to look inside it. Oh did I mention that they never included a wiring diagram in any manual for this machine, nor does the schematics show the "modification" that was done at the factory for the additional input connector they put on the MCR SSIO. In case you couldn't tell by my rant....my Demolition Derby shit the bed....again.

My nemesis is my Battlezone. It's been up and down more times and Jenna Jamison...

I know that I have a 50/50 shot of whether the bitch will fire up right or not when I go out there. REGARDLESS of the last state I turned it off in (it could run great for a whole freakin' day only to not fire up the next afternoon... or it could be causing me troubles all day and I turn it off in frustration only to have the damn thing fire up and work fine for an hour a couple days later. >ARGH!<)

Funny you should say that- I was doing a dress rehearsal of my games Sat night for our Sunday BBQ, and I powered up BZ which hasn't been on for at least a month. Everything looks good, I hit start, start playing a game and about 5 seconds in the screen goes blank. I look down and the start button is lit solid.. I'm like NO F*KING WAY!!! This was at around 11:30PM. I moved the game out and peered in the back, and the power supply was fried. There were 3 diodes in the middle of a black circle...

I pulled the PS and threw another one in there that the seller told me was "pulled from a working game". I could tell it had new caps on it so I flip the switch on the game and............. nada. I am really pissed at this point. I go to the NEXT PS that the seller told me was "pulled from a working game", install the thing and................ she comes back up.

And this, boys and girls, is why you must ALWAYS have a dress rehearsal before your game day.. :( Today's story is brought to you by the letter 'L'..... Because I was LIVID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
