most underrated pinball

Another vote for Genesis...and for RCT as well. Personally, I think its a fun game. Not all my machines have to be serious skill, pinball can be fun too!

Played T2 a lot in a league. Not a fan. The multiball and scoring are too dependent on the cannon, and aiming the cannon is NOT a pinball skill! (I have the same gripe about Black Rose.) OTOH, I think T3 is a great game with lots of challenging shots, and is underrated.

I agree about T3, played it in tournament and thought the cannon shot in the backbox was interesting, the ramp shots were fun too. It was the only pin I did best at in the tournament (scored the highest out of everyone). I was in the zone constantly hitting the ramps over and over. It was fast and fun. I must had like 10 in a row of constant ramp shots it was a blast, my timing was on in that game. My first time playing T3, IMO, I like better then T2.

Been playing pinball for 4 decades+. EVERY pinball game I've played (apart from the bagatelles of my youth) are based on flipper skills, and usually some (minor) plunger skill. Flippers are here to stay, along with some auxiliary scoring/pf features like pops, ramps, spinners.... The cannon is a 1-off toy (OK, there was a similar one in STTNG, and maybe Dirty Harry?) that is too critical to overall scoring--takes much of the scoring opportunity away from the flipper skills. It's not a "new kind of skill" b ut a 1-off novelty, like the cannon in Black Rose.

And who says "die hards" (whatever that means) aren't good at T2?

I like the fact that pinballs can be more then flipper skill. I enjoy flipper skills as much as the next but there is only so much you can do and after a while it gets boring. Same skills different machine. At least cannons add a new element of skill to the game. I'm not going to explain "die hards" cause I know you're not an idiot and you know what that means. I love to see pinball makers get more imagination and add some new elements to the game. What was basketball before the introduction of the three point line? Sometimes the game needs to change and I'm all for it.

Not necessarily overrated, but Williams' Diner is the best game I've ever played. Data East's Lethal Weapon 3 and Bally's Kings of Steel are pretty under-the-radar as well.
