Most sought after/valuable mini?

Just curious, what is the most valuable and sought after mini out there? Seeing a Tron-mini made me think of the question.

That's a tough one to answer. I think of minis as somewhat of a niche market, even in arcade collector's circles. A lot of people will complain about them, but they're rarely cheap when up for sale. So, at least that market is a solid one despite what anyone says.

I would think that Tron and Robotron cabarets will always command high prices and, although rare, they're common enough and sell often enough that you can gauge an average selling price for them. Same with Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga and similar cabarets. It gets harder to price the ones that you rarely see at all, though. Todd's Berzerk mini that he sold would, IMHO, be more valuable than all of those, but when's the next time you'll see that up for sale? And if someone posted a Jungle Hunt / King mini, what would that go for? You never see it. They're a tricky animal.

Depends on who you ask. I'd love to find a DK cabaret or a Satan's Hollow mini. I would also love to find a Missile command or Asteroids mini. Other ones I like are the Tempest and Centipede cabarets, as they came with 19 inch monitors. I currently own a Ms. Pacman mini and have owned a Jr. Pacman mini in the past. I personally like the woodgrain that most of these were made with, as it is sort of a snapshot of the style of the late 70's/ Early 80's. I would say as far as value, Tempest mini gets my vote.

Todd at TNT should chime in. He has a great collection of minis. I like the woodgrain, but minis with sideart are pretty neat too. Robotron minis were pulling some good coin for a while.

Hmmm, maybe the Berzerk mini. Of course, I think there is only one known to exist.

Of the realistically obtainable mini's I would probably say that the Williams mini's are
probably near the top of the list as far as value and rarity. Ive always thought that they
were pretty cool with the fully painted side art and not just woodgrain like most other
mini's are. The Williams mini's are Robotron, Bubbles, Stargate and Make Trax. I think that
is all of them.

Also, I guess the Moppet mini's can be pricey and rare. They seem to have gone up in
value in recent years. I wouldnt give you 2 cents for them unless I had small children and
possibly bought 1 or 2 for them. I would still put the Williams minis above the Moppets.

Ken.

I want a Neo Geo mini.

like mine :D

Not the most rare that I'm aware of... but it sure is neat.

I don't consider moppets to be minis at all. They're not smaller versions of bigger games.

(I know Leprechaun did appear in a UR, but it wasn't the same thing.)

A Tron mini loses a lot b/c it lacks so much artwork.

That could be argued for all the minis (save the Williams ones and a few others). If the lack of value is about lack of artwork in a buyer's eyes, they'll always be worth less.

Well, The Berserk mini is perhaps the rarest...but, Baby Pacman (only 5 minis made, 4 exist), Nintendo Space Demon (only saw this one), Playchoice Ten (9 inch top monitor, 15 inch bottom monitor), Radical Radial, Millipede, Kangaroo, Fast Freddie, Space Panic, Mayday, Trimline Carnival, Trimline Sega Dual Games (I have both), Astro Blaster come to mind. Once again, they are only worth what someone is willing to pay. Todd

Milipede, Kangaroo, Carnival & PC10 minis? How cool. Any pictures, or did you already post `em?

I can't find minis for sh*t in my area. It sucks too because I would collect the hell out of them if I could.

I have a Monaco GP and Taito game room classics (if that counts) and I recently saw a mini Donkey Kong but the guy wanted a sh*t-ton of money for it.

I haven't even seen any other minis around here, not even a Pac or a Ms. Pac.

Both mine (past/present) were Midways. Midway also had a Pac mini, Galaga mini, Galaxian mini, Gorf Mini, Tron mini and Satan's Hollow Mini. Any others? Was there a Tapper mini? My Jr. Pac was a conversion, but with the factory mini marquee, MY Ms. Pac was a dedicated mini:

Of the mini's I've seen so far my vote goes to the Berzerk Mini. That cab kicks so much @ss , tye one Todd sold a few months back is a centerpiece type game for any collection!
