Going slightly bananas with our Jurassic Park Lost World, have now learned it can be very problematic...curious as to what the most reliable light gun games in this same era (or newer) would be?
any gun game that uses light sensors vs the IR sensors. I haven't had one but usually the IR sensors and guns are harder/more expensive to replace and are often not 100% working.
It also includes converting to a much cheaper atx computer power supply.
After you do these two things, Lost World won't be so bad.
Also, if you have Lost World, is means you have a medium res monitor. If you plan on game swapping, that limits your choices a lot. Mostly to other sega gun games. None of which has a nice easy pinout to wire too. But they all can be standardized if you wanted too. Recently (past couple of years), I've bought several "jamma-ize" sega gun games. They ALL have been burning up the 5v/ground jamma tabs. Avoid these, unless you plan to rewire/bypass 5v/ground. If you do that, than you get a decent base for bringing things together without a lot of wiring planning.
