Most Played Machine At the Moment?

For the last 2-3 months, I have found myself drawn to Galaxian over and over again. I barely turn any of my other machines on anymore. I have yet to break 14K. but for some reason I keep trying. Got a favorite right now? What is it?

Same here right now but I can't crack 50k. I actually thought about doing a ROM swap for the later "easy" revision where the enemies don't lead with their shots, instead dropping them behind, as I have a really early board. However the harder revision keeps visitors scores to under 10k so I think I'll just keep it how it is. :)

I woulda' played some Galaxian with you at CAX but I could not find the Galaxian CT... AGAIN:confused: It's been listed for 3 years running and I never see it.

That's because it's in my apartment, bought it at the 2008 show. If it wasn't such a perilous adventure to move it downstairs it would have been back at the show this past year. I've never announced it would be at the show though, so the listing mistake is nothing on me.

Awesome game and 50K is insane. I see where you got your name. I have the early board revision too, hence the can't break 14K barrier. I tried tonight, the best I could muster was 12,4xx. Brian, would love to play Galaxian with you sometime my man.

I start on the outsides and work my way in, that way the entire mass of invaders will change direction less, making it easier to get into a groove to move along with the formation and grind them down. That early version board is a beast though.

Nothing against you, mang:) It's more of a, "Am I so freaking high that I can't see it right in front of me, or What?" type moment... for 3 years though:D

Kinda funny... at first, for this last CAX, it wasn't listed in the beginning. Then Senator Sav mentioned it in another thread... all the sudden it was listed:p I was sayin, "sweet". Only to have my hopes, yet again, dashed upon the rocks:( Oh well...

I really just need to figure out a better attack plan to move it out of here and get it to the show again. I suppose it'll give me better reason to either print an accurate color underlay or track down a good condition glass top with the original art.

The only one I have played out in the garage since getting back from CAX is Hydro Thunder. I have been playing Robotron and Black Widow in MAME quite a bit though. I don't currently have my control panel mounted to a cab, so it is a little rough to play the dual joystick games. The CP moves too much. I am going to have to remedy that pretty soon. Maybe someday I will find one or both of them to bring home.

I really gotta get to your place sometime so you can school me on these classic titles:cool:

Anytime. My door is always open and the security cameras are always on, just in case. Classics you say? How about:

Berzerk
Sea Wolf
GORF
Galaxian
Qbert
Space Invaders Deluxe
Lunar Rescue
Tempest
Asteroids Deluxe
Moon Patrol
Space Wars
Pole Position
and
Centipede.

Classic enough for you?

Yes. You bring tears of joy to an old man's eyes... Thanks for the open invite. And I know YOU won't give me a hard time if I wear my short shorts to play in...

You better have it wound up nice and tight. There's not much room for error in those babies.

For us over here it has to be the Monaco GP cockpit.....Its my oldest title and yet my newest game and everyone loves it..It gets the most play, and my other games are now just played while waiting for a turn at the wheel...

Alien Syndrome

My Alien Syndrome Cab.

That is the game that gets the least amount of love. Because its very hard to play and unforgiving if you play it at the default settings.

Which is: 3 guys, no continues(even if you coin more), 7 levels and absolutely no way to earn more guys(none at all, no matter what the score).

Even though it's an original cab(with the monster eyes up top) and is pretty cool looking. I could imagine when it came out, that after a person drops his/her quarter in it, and dies pretty fast right off the bat. I can see it not getting much love at all in the arcade.

But Ive been playing it for the challenge, which level 7 is still elusive to me. I can get to 6, but with the bosses that get more and more strange and hard and only 3 guys to do it with, with no continues..... Well.......It's just a hard game. I'll get there or burn it...one of the two...I'm kidding about the burning....kind of...:001_sbiggrin:

There are other dips switches that give you more guys...but why do that...lol I must play it the way that the Sega Gods intended, which is not very fair...

I'd have to say Virtual On Cyber Troopers. Because I haven't been playing on anything much lately, just doing work on trying to repair my current projects. It's not at my home to play, but when I check in at a buddies I have time to play it.

Keep trying to beat my time record, fastest i think was 7 min 52 sec, recorded on my slave unit. The top versus record still is at the top of my Master unit's records at 33 Wins and 0 Losses, held by me who beat my buddies 23 times in a row and then went on to play single player killing all 10 foes and bosses in one try! ^_-
