fireball. great backglass and all. but just an ok pin. does not live up to the hype.

Ill probably be strung up by my toenails for saying this but Addams Family has never "done it" for me ... I just cant get into it (for those prices)
There are so many more "under-rated" pins that I would rather have at half the cost.

Twilight Zone gets my vote. Crappy layout with largely-obscured pf, lame pops by left outlane/flipper, ZERO flow. They used to sell routinely for under $2k and I was never even tempted to buy one. STTNG has some similar faults but at least the pf is more open. Not a fan of either game.

Big Bang Bar.
I have an MM and CC, both expensive games, but they're just a lot of fun to play !
BBB ? No way, just doesn't do it for me (certainly not as here in Europe they cost more than MM + CC together)

Have to agree with TAF and Fireball.. Have bought a Fireball 3 times in the past because of the great looks and it's a collectors piece.. and after playing it a bit I'm reminded again it's just not that much fun.. (although it's one of the best zipper-flipper games).
I don't like it because the disc can cause a ball to go sdtm, just like the magnets on TAF do :-(

Pretty much my two favorite pins right there. I have played probably the top 20 pins. Different strokes for different folks.

Overrated? I am not one to judge. I can usually find enjoyment in any pin.

I would say kiss. I have one, but it is more for the theme than the gameplay. For what these machines are bringing, you can get a good dot matrix for the same money.

Easiest question ever: Medieval Madness

Every medium has to have that one "piece" that is blown way out of proportion and MM is, unfortunately, that pinball. I "get" it. It's a great game, just not 4K+ great.

For me, it's LOTR. It's not that I dislike it, but I just find it kind of boring. Based on how high it's ranked on most lists, I am somewhat surprised by my indifference. :)

figured that one was coming. :)

i understand that it's hard to separate out price when considering if something is "overrated" or not, but i tried to look at the question as "which popular pin do you just not care for"...

just for the sake of discussion, if you took away all pricing, would your answer change?

$4K ...... man I'll take as many at $4K that you can find. Those things in piss poor condition bring more than $4K.
FWIW - The software is what makes that game so great. But for the normal price of $6k - $8K it commands it's not worthy of that much money for MY budget. If a person has a money tree then price is not an issue. Hell If I had cash to burn I'd buy one for sure.

You're not kidding. An MM that was straight off route, unshopped, and needed $500 in parts would still go for more than $4K! It's just an insanely expensive pin.

Maybe I should have bolded the "+" when I said "4K+".

Nope. Price was the only way I could think to shorthand how ridiculously overhyped people make out MM. I've had a MM available to play for over a year and I do enjoy it, but man. It is very much not the end all be all people make it out to be. I think I play it, on average, once or twice a week. If I'm lucky. Where something like High Speed or Spider-Man winds up snagging at least a bajillion plays out of me.

I repeat, good game...just way overrated.

KISS and Playboy (78), Medieval Madness (because of the price), Terminator 2 (gets old fast), Popeye Saves The World, Fish Tales, either of the Pinball 2000's, any EM pinball, High Speed 1 and 2, F-14, Firepower, etc...

i get that. i was just thinking that if "price" wasn't part of the equation, people might give different answers.

no worries though. we all have different tastes.

i tend to agree that it's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY overpriced.....i just happen to think it's a very, very fun pin. if price were no factor, i'd have one right now. but as it stands, like you, i cannot justify the cost. but to be honest, there are quite a few pins i feel that way about, not just MM.....addams and twilight zone come to mind. fun pins, but i just can't justify the price. some good late model sterns too that just don't get up there with me due to the price alone.

but let TRON be the next pin and i'm one of the a-holes out there looking to pre-order it. ;)
