Most Obsessive Over The Top Thing You’ve Done In A Restore

For plywood cabinets, after I've thoroughly washed the inside, I like to give it a couple of coats of polycrylic. Makes the wood look nicer and seals it up. Likely never need to clean it again… but if you do, a soft vacuum brush will clean it up.
I have considered this a lot. I just picked up a LadyBug in good exterior shape, but the inside is NASTY with rat feces and urine. Thankfully it didn't compromise the wood, but it is gross and smelly. I just want to know, how much do you wash when you say wash. I have considered pressure washing with soap and putting industrial blowers on it, but I am scared to try it. Then hit it with an ozone machine.

Plenty of cleaning products on the market for it. Spray, let it sit, and scrub with a sponge. Repeat as necessary. Then sand. I'd do 80, 120, 220, then 320 if you want to go that high. Then paint it to seal it.

i'd avoid moisture if necessary. i've had to rescue a few rat houses as well, and in my experience i just gutted the cabinet completely, vaccumed, concrobium'd, and let it sit in the sun for several days (out during the day, in the shop at night).
the ozone machine is a great idea though from what i've heard others say regarding smelly funk that just won't leave

I wash it for real. Like, water hose, scrub brush, soap and/or bleach. Only for plywood cabinets like Nintendo, Williams, some Sega. I haven't needed to sand any of mine. I've done some Ataris but you have to be careful to keep it on the plywood and vinyl only or you could have swelling.

Then set it up with a fan blowing through it.

These are the only cabinets than when opened, have no smell at all. Cabinets I have that have been vacuumed, sanded, cleaned with simple green / murphy's oil soap, etc. don't stay that fresh.

I haven't sealed ALL of mine with clear poly, but I have with several and I prefer it. I like it the best because on plywood cabinets, it doesn't cover anything like paint and makes the good plywood look really nice, almost furniture like.
