Most money found in a game machine thread

About $3.50 of sticky Canadian quarters inside the leg of a Nintendo red tent. No idea what's gone on there..

In my Sega Mega Tech, I found about 70,- austrian Schillings ( our former currency ) = 6 Dollars.
And I guess 10 german marks in pole position and other cabs = 6 dollars, too.

But its kind like a "treasure hunt" to search the inside for coins after you get a new cabinet :-D

I found this yesterday. I paid $90 for it and found $31 in quarters inside it. Plus, someone stuck a Canadian quarter in it.

My largest haul is $600 quarters in a Big Choice Claw machine off of Craigs List. New owners took over a Pizza place and just wanted it gone. Drilled the locks and hit a jackpot.

I found just under $50 cash in two free Merit Scorpion DX dartboards I picked up. They were taken off route during a league and the cash for the league was deposited in the side slot of the machine. All the bills were from the mid to late 90's also, none of the fancy new ones we have nowadays.

Between 10-15 years ago I bought four machines out of an arcade going out of business for $100 total. One machine was spilling quarters as I moved it. I looked at the owner and said, "Do you want to open it up and clean it out?"

"Nope! Whatever is in them is yours. I just want these out.", he replied.

"Are you sure?" I ask.

"Positive!"

Get home, open it up ... $100-something in quarters. I don't remember the exact amount, but I know I've told this story before. :p

Thats one of the best coinage scores I've heard about, nice.

Only two lousy tokens, which was interesting since the machine wasn't setup for tokens.
