Most/Least Played Games You've Got?

Once you get the feel for the controls it will all make sense… Will have both the Nichubutsu Crazy Climber Deluxe Upright + the cocktail by then

The controls make sense, I'm just not good at playing it at all (think I've only made it 1/2 up the 2nd building).

No one else will even try to play Crazy Climber.

I only own it for nostalgia purposes (played a cocktail as a kid at a marina laundry room as a kid), and have never actually played it on an upright machine.

Taking a gamble on an upright Nichubutsu Crazy Climber Deluxe. It arrives next week…

Have wanted one forever and they never pop up…hoping it results in a little space savings in place of the existing cocktail version…

But I grew up playing the cocktail and it's the one I'm most comfortable playing. Tried adding a Taito UR about 15 years ago and hated the feel. Re-sold it right away. Gonna be disappointing if I don't like the Deluxe either, lol.

As for the controls I find new players struggle the most finding their rhythm and getting stuck in between moves. Once they develop the timing the game becomes fun.

I can't believe you guys are listing 10+ for most played and 10+ for least played. Shouldn't it be 1-2 of each?

Most played:
VR 4 player
Centipede
Pinball

Least played by normies:
Burgertime
720 degrees

Everything else gets played sometimes, that mushy middle.

Least played is Chicago Coin Super Score. The lack of flippers really hobbles this game.
All the others get played about the same.

We've had a lot of families with kids over lately.

The most played:
Point Blank
Neo Geo (mainly Puzzle Bobble)
Sega Aero City (mainly Bubble Bobble)

Least Played:
Donkey Kong
Arkanoid
Ms. Pac

Somewhere in between:
SFII
Smash TV

Not surprisingly, the low-entry, easy-to-play games get the most play. Classics are too difficult and people just give up after the first couple of tries.

I see a trend with Punch-Out!! being on the least played lists, I think this is because it is not a game you can necessarily play for the first time and be successful. You need to memorize audio cues and visual patterns to progress, which may sound the same as other games, the difference here is the player isn't usually going in with this mentality on a boxing arcade game. The attract mode does a decent job in trying to explain it, it just seems to take a bunch of credits to get a handle on it.

At my last gettogether, the most played game was centipede, least played was Asteroids Deluxe (ironically right next to the centipede)

I feel Asteroids Deluxe is very underrated and unappreciated. Love the game but like Sinistar, suffers from extreme difficulty, which could be a put off for many.

I might as well just list all of my games. I've done a good job of weeding out games that don't get played. If there are any left that don't, there is an executive order by me that it stays. Like Strider.
