Must be playable with a standard 8 or 4-way, 3 button, two-player jamma setup via jamma adapter. I'm looking for something to keep my jamma machine in vertical mode more often so that my vertical games get more play. It's easy to switch boards, but is more of a pain to change orientation. I'm so addicted to Robotron (via JROK) that it's always in horizontal mode. I'm thinking that Donkey Kong may be the winner. What do you think?

Are sixty in ones fake or real?

Depends on your definition. All of the XX in 1s are MAME on a board, so technically they are running the original ROMs with small mods to make them work as if they had a quarter dropped in them and to exit back to the menu after the game is over.

So are they the real hardware running the original software?: no. Are they running an emulation of the hardware running the original software?: yes.

The emulations are pretty good and it is nice to have so many classics packed into a single space (same logic for a Multi-Williams).

Someone already mentioned it, but yeah, 60-in-1 has the worst input lag of anything I've played on. Move the joystick in Galaga on there and wait for the ship to move. Doesn't bug everyone, but I don't like it.

So far the vertical games that I have are Galaga 88, Mappy, and Pooyan. I don't play Galaga 88 too much because it kills my right hand (too much programming is unhealthy! :) ), so Galaga might be out.

Time Pilot is definitely interesting. That may have to boot DK in my mind. I'll have to try again in Mame to make sure it isn't going to kill my right hand.

Also, I'm not interested in anything that I already have a dedicated machine for in my sig.

Thanks! Keep 'em coming!!! :)

The jrok multiwilliams has exactly the same latency/feel as the original hardware. The 60-in-1 doesn't. I'd recommend trying it before buying one so that you know if that bothers you or not. Some people are sensitive to latency more than others.

well since you tag says, most addictive vertical game

my vote is/always will be...............GALAGA

He said "most addictive", not "most boring".

I'd say:

Gyruss
Time Pilot
Circus Charlie
Gorf (good luck on the JAMMA conversion, though)
Mappy
Frogger
Mr. Do

Many others. The DK's are great, but you'd need to do video inversion...
