Hey guys, acquired an mk2 project recently, and I am trying to get everything tackled. When I bought the game, it had no board, no wiring, and no power supply. While I was at Chattanooga Pinball, I took a picture of the inside of theirs to give me a reference for what I needed. I procured a harness from a fellow member here, (thanks ctozzi!) and now I need a PS. I have several of these floating around my house, but the question I have is, the one pictured has a molex connection that connects to the rest of the wiring harness. I dont have any, nor can I find one online with this type of molex connection. I'm assuming I can hard wire another one its place, but wanted to run it by you guys first. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as I am dying to get this guy up and running!! Thanks! -Jason

I don't know what you're asking here. the purple wires are the AC in feed that goes to the power supply though.

I also encourage you learn how to crimp your own molex connectors, it'll make life substantially easier. lol

heres a pic...

That is a replacement PS mounted in the wrong spot. MK2's factory PS was the same style and was mounted to the right of the sound board on the cab side. There should be holes there. There was a 3 pin molex going back to the PS so you could remove the PS easier if needed, but you can just wire in spade connectors if you need to. I'm a stickler and would do the molex for originality.

Okay, so just a reglar happ power supply will do the job? Maybe I looked at it wrong, I could have sworn there were three wires that came out of the back of the p.s. with a molex connector that connected into the wiring harness. That does make more sense however..

the purple wires go on the ac terminals and the green goes on the FG or field ground terminal.

or if you wanna get real technical, the solid purple wire is the hot, and the purple/yellow wire is the neutral, if that's what you wanted to know. (some power supplies, like the Happ Power Pro, will have those labeled as such on the AC terminals)

and just in case, when you go to install the new one, be mindful that the yellow wire is not +12.

red +5
orange +12
yellow -5
black ground

I was thinking you were talking about the previous owner adding a molex plug for the JAMMA power wires (like you would find on one of the newer games that came with the box-type power supplies instead of the screw terminal ones), not the AC connector.

I think the MK2 manual has a diagram of where they have the boards oriented. my MK2 cab housed like a Blitz and probably some other stuff, so my mounting board's like swiss cheese. I tried lining up and finding the original holes but wasn't able to for some reason.

I now see the power supply in the pic, I was wondering what that was lol. they look like they stuck that on the cab wall instead of the PCB mounting board. my cab had it installed on the floor for some reason. I wanna know wtf they made the wires so gd long, I'm contemplating cutting them and putting new ends on to shorten the run.
