So for months of searching for a T-Unit board for a multi MK project. Lo and behold I got one. Story goes like this, 10 years ago I had an MKI game and when I moved I threw it out. A friend scavenged the internals and saved them in a box, in said box was a perfectly working T-Unit Board. Made my week:)

Here is my question though. No matter how positive I am on the button combinations none of the fatalities work. They are turned off. So much so On the pit stage when I upper cut someone they do not fall to their death.

I have searched all of the menu options but cant find how to turn on the blood and guts to the game. Is it a dip switch? a jumper? Anyone know?

Also anyone know where I could get a sound pot for the board?

Thanks for your time.

it is in fact a dipswitch!

if you go back into Test Mode -> Diagnostics -> Dip Switch Test there will be a table on the screen that says which switch controls what.

what you see in the description next to each switch is what feature is currently active. yours probably has Violence Off and No Blood.

head over to this link too: http://arcarc.xmission.com/PDF_Arca..._Kit_T-Unit_CPU_(16-43275-101-B_Feb_1983).pdf

it's the service manual for the T-unit MK1. (the Feb 1983 is an amusing typo btw!)

I'd make sure that all the switches are set to their default values, which I reckon you turn them all to the Off position. but check to make sure.

good luck!

A Thank you

Heads are flying and Spines are being ripped thank you very much. I appreciate it.

I am off to radio shack in search of a sound pot now. Thanks again for the help.

Found a 50k Ohm and a 100k ohm pot, couldnt find the block connector to match so I figured i would try a different radio shack later.

Thanks again for the help.

Using the 50k Ohm Pot and some quick connects, I now have a working sound pot. I really didnt want to solder the wiring to the board or the pot for that matter and the quick connects worked perfectly. So no need for a block connector I guess.

Thanks for the help.

Now I just need to decide. Get a 6-in-1 switcher and mod it for Midway games, or go with Mike's 2-in-1 and just stick with these two games.

6-in-1s are awesome. I've got one, just never got around to figuring out a way to mount all the boards inside, or do the super kick harness. lol

I think one of the things I wanna try next is those MK Turbo MAME roms, see if burning those will actually work on my 2nd MK board. (which needs new connector pins and the sound board power cabling redone)

Let me know if you need a set of the turbo roms I have a few sets to sell and they work great on both the t-unit and y-unit.
