I bought a mk1 cab a while back that has mk3 in it and the CP was pretty much held together with screws, duct tape, scuffs that were filled in with black marker(faded to purple), and silicone. What ever you do do not use marker for touch ups! I got tired of looking at it and the main reason for buying it is to have fun and restore it as much as possible back to it's original state. So that's when I went on the mission recently to make the CP art seeing I didn't like the art that was currently being sold. Nothing against Scott at mamemarquees/gameongrafix. He's a great guy by the way. There are a few things that is wrong with his art that I felt that I could very well fix. So me my gf and a friend all worked on the artwork and took exact measurements from the original and finally finished it for printing. I sent the art to Scott to print and he ended up shipping it out. So I took off the duct tape the screws and then removed the CP and took it outside. The pics are in the attatchments before removing the artwork.
After removing the artwork I then sanded it down to make everything baby bum smooth. I then filled in the screw holes, and a chip of wood missing on the corner of the left cp. I let it dry, sanded it down flush and for a few coats of black paint for the decals to adhere better. Decals got lost in the mail but found it's way home and was very happy with it. Got some tips from yourmameman on youtube who is now yourmksource I believe. Put it on and couldn't have been happier! I now have a fully restored MK1 CP. Here is the video of the the CP after painting.
