I've got a Mortal Kombat PCB and hooked it to one of my jamma harnesses.
When I start up the game it powers on, but it keeps flipping the opening screen credits and displays a CMOS error.
The game plays fine after you coin it up, it justs keeps flipping the opening promo credits.
I thought it might be the quarter battery at the top of the board that might be dead, so I changed it out and it still displays the CMOS error.
Does anyone happen to have any word of wisdom here to help me out?
Any help would be appreciated.

you put a new CR2032 battery in it?

SOMETIMES, for no apparent reason, the NVRAM will get corrupted on these, so the next thing you can try is going into Test Mode -> Utilities -> Full Factory Restore. realistically if the old battery was completely dead you shouldn't even have to do that, but like I said, sometimes it can just get corrupted.

if that doesn't take care of it, then I don't know what you can try next I'm afraid. probably a board problem then.
