mortal kombat 4 issue

did you try messing with the holds at all on the monitor? I'm thinking maybe the vertical is a hair off or something... I would think that there's nothing wrong with the video drive on the board itself cause the POST screen is fine, it's not like it has multiple syncs you know?

I thought that was the problem in my old MK cab, cause the JAMMA harness was already suspect, turned out it was a hold, even though I had the same games in there previously that worked fine.

did i mention the hold in a previous pm? (i think i might have but i can't remember).

no thanks needed, all i did was forwarded a link, wish i could have been more help but as i said i've never owned that board. hope it's nice and simple.

it's definitely weird, cause the POST screen is fine and then it goes batshit in the game. must be something to do with 2D and 3D modes too maybe, I don't think anyone knows ANYTHING about the Zeus chip, so outside of maybe a popped leg on the CPU it could be one of those pissing in the wind instances lol.

hopefully it's just a hold though, but it looks more like a total loss of sync rather than just horizontal or vertical.

that's what i was thinking, strange that it would sync fine at the test screen but not the actual game, i've never had a board do that. If the hold was off it would be off during the test also just like you said.

sooo the verdict is...success!

the h hold WAS infact the issue which is insane. how could the picture be fine in test mode and then go screwy? like that?

anyways thanx to the both of you....as usual

now someone help me figure out the juggernaut chip set issue im having

What seems to be the problem with your juggernaut hack?
