to anyone who can help!!! I bought a Mortal Kombat 2 arcade about 2 months ago, played it and shipped it home, when I got it home it was going crazy... I tried to play it but the life bars would start out losing either partial energy or all energy. After i'd win a round, it would switch my character. Then if I tried to play another match the two guys would appear for battle, but i could not move them with the buttons! I am very new to arcades in general, is it a fixable pcb issue and what should I do? thanx--crookit6

Never heard of that particular issue before. I have a very good friend down in Florida though, and both he and I keep about a half a dozen spare MKII boards around just in case. In my experience, it seems to be a very unstable board with a lot of issues. My recommendation to you is to try a different PCB. Possibly one of the more "tech" guys here could diagnose/fix your board for you?

shipping could have caused the issue if it was working fine when you first tried it out. First make sure to reseat all of the socketed chips. Next make sure your harness is firmly connected to your pcb. third make sure your +5 voltage is right coming out of the switching powersupply.

Reseat chips +1

Also, ensure Edge connector did not come loose/slanted on the PCB.

The Jamma harness on these become stressed due to the angle they are connected to the pcb. Eventually the pins will stop connecting cleanly. Mine did this.

check your monitor thread on this.

I have detailed instructions on how to fix it. :) well... hoping it will fix it.

reseating the socketed chips helps a lot with these.
