I need bolts for the joystick, I have the holes, and there are threads in the holes, I either need bolts or the shaft and a nut (no homo)

Does anyone know the size or any information?

I don't know the exact sizes. but you can pop the T-nuts out of the wooden part of the CP and take it to a hardware store to match it up.

this requires removal of all the buttons, the metal CP mounting nuts, and the security torx screws that hold the plexi on.

now would be a good time to give all that a Windex bath underneath, and align all your buttons properly. :)

have you seen my thread? The overlay wasnt 100%. so the buttons arent perfect. and its brand new overlay and plexi, why would I need a windex bath??

also removing all of that wouldnt give me access to those bolts? I have never seen a top to them, I assumed it was just the threads recessed into the panel

no, they're actual T-nuts. I would know because I just took my MK4 panel apart like 2 weeks ago to install the dust rings underneath the metal CP. :)

I think they're just glued in, possibly stapled too. or you could just save yourself the trouble altogether and just bring the whole wooden panel into a store, I guess.

you might even be able to get sizes out of the manual too.

Did we ever find an answer to this? I know the threads are of the #8/32 variety size, but any idea what type of head on the bolt will fit best? I've looked at carriage bolts, flat head (look like wood screw heads) bolts, and the Machine bolts (rounded over heads)

Which would fit under the sheet metal CPO the best?

R u ready? i mean really really ready!!

#8-32x 3/4" (and or 1") Round head Machine screws with #8 external tooth lock washers

atleast that's what the baggies from home depot said when i matched up the ones i brought from my machine

3/4 and 1" are going to be too short... The Control panel itself is 3/4" and the joystick mounts are at least 1/4"

I was more concerned with the heads... I went to Home Depot on my lunch break and found 8-32 1 1/2" Truss bolts because the heads were the flatest I could find.... I will try these tonight:

don't forget the threaded inserts are inside of the 3/4" wood so they should fit perfectly :D

iirc the 3/4" ones were for the lockdown brackets maybe or maybe they're for another machine, all i know is i've got tons in my parts bin for all these damn panels i have....

Exactly, thats why I bought the 1 1/2" bolts, 3/4" would only come to the bottom of the threaded insert and then would have no room for the joystick base to attach let alone to tighten a nut onto the end!

i edited my post, i believe the 1" ones are the right ones, if you really want i can pull one from my mk4 panel and measure it.
