so last night i guess there was a friggin storm. the light went out like three times, and came back on. My son and myself were going to play some mortal, and I switched it on... and look what I got!!! My game is on a surge protector, and so is my other cab. The other cab is fine, but look at this... what do I do?

ah you didn't say there was a lightning storm, the game wasn't on during the storm was it? regardless imo always unplug the games/surge protector from the wall when not in use.

check the 5v like i said, make sure those chips are fully seated and not oxidized, you might be in for a visit to steph @ hobbyroms.com tho

Those chips are on the expansion board. Re-seat them and boot the game again. If they are still bad, send them to me and I'll re-flash them for you. If I can't get them to work, I have roughly 10 bad MK2 boards that I can pull roms from. I can flash them and send them to you.

okay so biomech sent me a link in regards to the expansion board i guess, it was loose and wasn't reading. so i unplugged and plugged it back FULLY in, and it is good now. It wasn't on during the storm, just didn't want to leave any details out. thanks james!! hopefully this will help anyone else who runs into this issue.

yea the ones with daughter/secondary boards can be flaky sometimes. i was hoping a reseat of the board would work but wasn't positive.

man, your shit must've been pretty loose. I've never had any problems regarding the expansion board on mine before. frankly I feel like it's kind of an urban legend that they're so "flaky". I had to do a lot of work on my board to get it where it's at now and that's never been a problem for me lol

I'll engineer a preventative maintenance checklist for this stuff soon, I hope. been so busy at work since the kids got out of school.
