Mortal Kombat 2 - Damaged Side Art During Restoration

Do you guys have any suggestions for repairing the side art to my MK2 cabinet. I managed to damage it during the restoration. I was planning on masking the area off and using spray paint. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yikes. That's definitely a @#%@!#$@#!%!! moment.

Were it me, I'd replace it with new. That's pretty nasty. That being said, if you don't want to spend the couple hundo to get new art and don't care, you can use the other side and try to scan/photograph and recreate the section that got messed up. I can't imagine that's worth it though.

I'm sure I'll end up replacing it eventually, but I want to at least make an attempt to fix it before I spend ~$200 on new side art. That's a good idea about scanning it. I'll look into it and see if there are any promising results.

Did you have a heat gun on that damaged area?

I guess temporary fix would be to cut out the damaged section and paint it. then get new side art when you can afford it. sucks it's so expensive for that game.

That's exactly what I'm going to do. I did a temporary fix until I shell out the $$$ for side art. Fortunately, this side is hidden when it's setup in my room.

Right after cutting out the damaged areas

Touched it up the best I could with my limited artistry skills

I have some other things I want to do before spending a lot on side art. Plus, I'm guessing that's not easy to apply. I'm a little nervous about it. I'm going to enjoy the game a bit and do some smaller things before I tackle that job. Thank you everyone for your input!
