Hey all, I am starting this threat to show the progress and ask any questions with problems I encounter. I had a CPO lying around which I already applied. now waiting for Rich of thisoldgame.com to send the rest :)

Any suggestions are welcome

Welcome to the Club.

You'll find a lot of MK restore fanatics here.

Good luck with your journey. We're all here to help out.
just ask.

Looks like a nice machine you have to start with. Are you replacing the faded sideart or keeping it original? You need to get a bucket of water and some rags and get the inside of that cabinet cleaned =)

Hi Meph,

cabinet is already vacuumed and cleaned. I already ordered the side art and box art. Next is to figure out the extra wiring the machine operators did, to get it to it's original setup.

The machine switches on and works well, but it restarts after a while. Might be the power supply is on its last leg. If you have a look at the picture of the inside, let mw know what's wrong from the original setup

thanks all

Yours looks about the same maybe a little less faded then mine when I got it... I especially appreciate the Jonny Cage tooth blackout...

You'd be surprised how clean you can get the inside.... Like Meph said... bucket of water and some rags.... There seemed to be a can of spilled soda in mine... but its all good now!

5.18v is what your looking for at the jamma connector, if it's not you can adjust the power supply as well as clean the edge connector on the board with a pink eraser.

welcome to the club (as biomech already said :D )

Thanks Broodwich. I have been a member for a long time, but I decided to finish these projects this year. I have this MK1, MK2 and MK4. I also have a european version of the MK2, same style but not with separate control box.

How can I adjust the voltage? from that red 'knob'? I also think I have to much wires running around in the cab. the operator went mental with extra wires :)

oh i'd like to see that euro mk2 if you get a chance to snap some pics.

yup red knob (if you have a spare crappy board i recommend using that one to do your adjustment on then putting your good board back in (avoids any un wanted damage caused by dirty adjustment pot and voltage spike)).

heh i do see a previous owner put the power supply on the other side of the cab :D

looking thru your pics i saw this:

I have never seen this before, very interesting lil piece right there.

Yes, previous owner did a mess. I will try to do it as it was. BioMech sent me some pics, if you have more post them or links here.

Here is a pic of my 3 arcades, they where in UK, so serial on the ID tag has an I prefix and also marked as 220v:

Here is the Euro cab being transported. I will take a better pic

I don't know what it is. it is on the left side of the coin mech (looking from the front). looks original but might have been added after. as I said wiring near the coin box is messed up. I would like to get it well. I will post more detailed pics of the wiring

Hi,

I was talking with BioMech and he said that he found black vinyl on the front of his MK1. is that how it was done by midway? or was it painted?

I would like to now, because if that is the case, I would need to do black vinyl. to tell you the truth, the access panel there is on the right had black vinyl, and I thought the previous owner did it.

Yeah my MK1 also had black vinyl on the front of it as well. It had some bad spots so I filled with wood filler and sanded smooth. Then painted with plasti dip so I could peel it off if I didn't like it. So far it looks good. I've been wondering if the vinyl was factory if so I might have to order some.

yep it's factory, all of the 90's midway cabs have it for the most part. Thisoldgame carries what your looking for to replace it.
