I went to the boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware this past weekend. Here is what I found.

Arcade 1:
Rolling Stones - not a fan of this one

Arcade 2:
no pins

Arcade 3:
AFM - my first time, fun, but not worth the current asking price.
TAF - still haven't gotten into this game
IM - fun, fast game
TSPP - really like this one
SM - really fun and fast
Austin Powers - didn't care for it
South Park - really didn't like it
LOTR - finally played a nice machine, really fun game
POTC - didn't care for it, hard to see the top of the playfield
IJ4 - didn't care for it

Arcade 4:
IM
24 - it was ok, not great
BDK - it was ok, liked the crane or whatever that was

It was a great day. I got to play a handful of machines for the first time. I found out that I really like the moving targets like the crane (or whatever it was) on BDK, and I even liked the Mick Jagger moving target.

Funny you should mention this, I myself was just at the Rehoboth boardwalk yesterday with my family. My son spent some time playing his first pinball (The Simpsons) in Funland while I spent some time with Virtua Cop 3.

Rehoboth has always had some excellent arcades. I spent most of my years as a kid and young teen waiting for family trips there so I could put some quality time into the latest arcade releases. It's always great to see Rehoboth still has some excellent arcades at a time where most of them are fading from existence.

Can't wait to get down there next month for my wedding. I've got a buddy coming in that is into games as much as I am, so I know we're going to have a good time the night before. I was talking to the manager at the Greene Turtle on the boardwalk and they are talking about doing a New Years Eve event where the arcade below it will be part of the ticket and all of the games will be set on freeplay. That would be an awesome New Years Eve event!

you guys need to tke a trip about 20 miles south to ocean city. theres an amazing arcade right at the end of the board walk that puts rehoboth's to shame

Really? The last time I visited Ocean City I stopped by the arcade across from the wax museum (I'm assuming this is the one you're talking about), and it was very underwhelming. It's been a couple of years so maybe they've upgraded, but the last time I visited it was mostly redemption, DDR/Guitar Hero cabinets, and a few lackluster lightgun titles.

I plan on making another trip to the beach this Summer, so I'll have to scope out what they have now on my next trip south.

Also, good to see another Newark member on the boards. :)

I don't go anywhere near that boardwalk in the summer. We stay up at the north end. Our friends have a house on 136th St that we are at about once a month all year. The only time I get to that end is off season to hit up the Cork Bar.

We've only been in Rehoboth for wedding planning. My fiancé and I work for the Greene Turtle owners at a different location and they are giving us a hell of deal. They love us and are letting us do whatever we want.

I just got extended on my work trip in Delaware until mid October. Let me know if you hear of any good places or want some company for some arcade time.

Awesome! I should be back down around that way within a month or so. I'll definitely be hitting the arcades then, so I'll shoot you a PM if you want to get some games or a beer in.
