I met a guy on CL from a church. Normally I don't deal with church people, but this guy had a compelling story. He was trying to start like an after-school program for at-risk kids and needed some help. A few games were donated, but 2 weren't working, and one was WWF Royal Rumble... Not exactly good christian values there; so he was open to trades. He said that the kids in the program were probably going to re-finish the cabs, so nothing new or nice would even be accepted. I thought this would be perfect for the woody cab I just picked up and am sticking my old AmeriDarts board in.

I was thinking about the Royal Rumble setup (I'd love that Naomi hardware and probably would have put something else in it), but it was a double cab, and I really don't have room for it. I got in touch with him and offered him a few games. He said that someone offered him a Dig Dug for the WWF, but he'd take my AmeriDarts in exchange for the two busted games; S.T.U.N. Runner (playing blind) and Operation Wolf (needing serious help). I was mostly interested in OW, but I'd never even seen SR, so I popped on KLOV. According to VAPS, there's a guy 2 towns over who's had one on his "want" list forever. Got in contact with him, and he's interested providing I can get it running.

Anyway, I took a ride down to check out the games last week. He still had the WWF machine and I found some interesting tokens in the bottom of it. From what I could track down on the tokens, this thing had traveled. I found tokens from Niagra, a few different places in Ontario (different token sizes) and one more from either CA, OK, or TX. This machine has seen the country and the miles definitely showed.

S.T.U.N. Runner is in great shape and it's probably just a power issue in the monitor. Operation Wolf on the other hand is in pretty sad shape. The side art is really faded, the cabinet is falling apart, and wiring is in pieces. I may end up parting that one out sadly.

As our convo continued that day, he brought up the fact that he wanted the kids painting these cabs and he was wondering if I could remove the coin doors, replace them with a plate or something (keeping the coin doors of course) and add a credit button. I said no problem.

He dropped everything off today. I now have the AmeriDarts machine that is almost ready in the garage, a Dig Dug sitting next to it that was beaten on pretty hard, a S.T.U.N. Runner in storage and an Operation Wolf sitting next to that. Busy couple of days, but I should make a couple of bucks of the deal. Unfortunately he showed up at about 9 pm, so it was a little dark for pictures, but I'll get some soon.
