First off, let me say that I hate gutting classic machines. I have learned from my mistakes in the past and now every time I see a gutted classic, its like a punch in the nads.
NOW, with that being said, I recently picked up 3 mostly-empty Midway Cocktails. 2 Galaxians and one Ms. Pac. None of them have boards or monitor chassies (I just have one severely burned tube), and the wiring is in poor, hacked up shape on all of them. Hell, the Ms. Pac is one empty control panel and a few wires away from being completely stripped.
Now here comes the kicker... I brought these home with the intention of Multicading them to help fund my new house purchase next summer. But each time I look at these games sitting in my garage, I want to restore them more and more each time. I know there isnt a huge demand for a restored Galaxian cocktail (unfortunately) but since I dont plan on keeping these games, I am torn as to what I should do. I would love to make 2 grand in the multicading world, but I would much rather put forth the time and effort to see them restored to their original beauty and sold to someone that has a soft spot for these titles and wants a cream-of-the-crop machine.
What should I do?
