picked up a non - working dedicated moonwalker arcade cheap . Chassis # wg553874, Wells gardner #25k7193 . When i plug unit into wall i hear normal sound from game . Problem is the fuse keeps blowing instantly at the chassis board . I tried swapping isolation transformers with a known working piece . Outcome is the same . This cabinet has a dynamo hd power supply that sega used on alot of their games . The standard power cord for the supply does not power up the game So i made a cord with male ends on both sides and plugged into standard plug at power supply , when i got this game it had no power at all at start up . Now the unit has power , but i'm pretty sure the power supply is the cause of my problems . Any help would be appreciated , sorry i'm a newb on this site .

Let me see if I am hearing you. you bypassed the existing power supply and got it to work.

When you power it up, its blowing the fuse on the monitor board.

here is a flowchart to repair the k7000 chassis

If you don't have the skills to fix it, if you think you can pull the chassis off the monitor, then you can send it off for repair. PNL video in baldwin park, or send it to someone like chad at arcadecup.com.

Are you in the SF bay area?

Sorry for the confusing post , i was in a hurry . The arcade had a blown fuse when first purchased and also was not powering up . What i did was bypass the factory dynamo cord and used a cord that i made up which has a male end for the wall outlet and a male end for the dynamo power supply . The power supply has a standard style outlet as well but it is female . The power supply will not power up with the factory supplied cord . So basically i'll check voltages at the power supply and and at the the fuse . I'm thinking a bad diode on the monitor board would cause this as well right? Visually the boards look great but i have not ran any continuity tests. Thanks for the reply and yes i live in the bay area .

The outlet in the cabinet is for the monitor. It is usually isolated and I wouldn't connect that the wall. You should wire up the power supply correctly and not hack a bypass.

Take a look at this page on Bob's site for how to wire a cabinet.

Update , i got the power supply to work by tapping the top of it . So obviously it is bad . I used the k7000 monitor diagnostic flow chart for chassis fuse blowing and came up with these readings horizontal output transistor tested 0.69ohms not sure if that is good or bad . Checked diodes d19-d22 they all read 1.864 ohms ,pretty sure that is good . Sorry this is all new to me . I did not see anything wrong with the flyback either . Would a faulty power supply cause the fuse to blow ?
