I've never worked on a Moon Patrol. I'm trying to help someone piece a game together. He sent me the number of the PS board that came with his game and it doesn't match up to the manual. So I don't know if it is a manual error, or someone replaced the PS in his game with something else.

So, is the power supply and separate heat sync board in a Moon Patrol, the same as other Williams games of the era (Joust, Robotron, Blaster, Bubbles, etc.)? I'm taking about the power supply that had a separate big heat synch with the two bottle cap transistors. Or is it something else unique to Moon Patrol? Considering it's not a classic style Williams PCB, it might have its own unique power supply. Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure it's the same.. Only thing moon patrol doesn't need is -5 as there arent any 4112 ram, like on joust, robo, and others.. I've swapped in other Williams ps and didn't have an issue.

Might wanna just replace it with an ATX or switcher.. I sell ATX addapters and ps if you wanna go that route.

I've also got a couple NOS sticks and 2-way joystick assemblies available too.. If needed

Moon Patrol straddled the end of the Defender power supply era and the beginning of the Joust Power supply era. I have seen (and owned) both. If you want to go original, put a Joust power supply in. Otherwise, a switcher will work fine. Moon Patrol does not use a 6809 so is not subject to the 6809 "spew random crap through memory on shutdown" bug.
