I'm wondering exactly what is inside a Moon Patrol. How many boards run the game? What are the boards? Are they the same boards as Sinistar/Bubbles? Will another Williams PS work in a Moon Patrol? Anyone have pics of the inside? Anyone sell a wiring harness?
Thanks!

I believe the power supplies are the same. I know the switcher PS conversion is the same for most williams. As far as the wiring harness, you might ask dokert if he has one.

The power supplies are your standard Williams type (crummy), but the game PCB's are totally different from any other Williams game. Remember that Moon Patrol was really an Irem game, distributed by Williams. The game board consists of three stacked circuit boards, connected by ribbon cables.

The wiring harness is very simple, as the game board has only a single edge connector - nothing complicated like Robotron or other Williams games. Installing a switcher in Moon Patrol is trivial, and there is no danger of the weird memory loss problems like with other Williams games - Moon Patrol does not have a battery or any way of saving high scores or settings - it's configured with standard dip switches.

Moon patrol is an IREM game, only licensed to Williams, so it's got nothing in common with other WMS games, other than the similar cabinet, and a defender-style power supply.
