moon patrol on a switcher...

I have powered a Moon Patrol PCB with nothing but a switching PS. The 44 pin edge connector is the tough part if you don't have the matching harness.

i have the arcade shop switcher and harness. if i hook those up, i can lose the linear pcb?

I have a switchers in my Moon patrol and Bubbles machines. One is from arcade shop, the other is a self made connector sort of thing. Its been awhile, but I thought the linear was completely missing from my moon patrol.

I'll have to look tomorrow.

can anyone who's got a moon patrol on a switcher tell me if it completely eliminates the liner power supply pcb? thanks

If it is done correctly, yes you can eliminate the linear altogether. If it is not done correctly, you will not have coin door lights and ground issues with the coin door and possibly the control panel.

Is this the exact same issue as with the Williams games like Joust, StarGate, and Robotron? And would your recommendation still be to use a rebuilt original power supply?

Thanks.

Yes it is the same issue. Moon Patrol actually does just fine on a switcher if it is setup correctly unlike other Williams games.
