So stupidly I sold the original Wells that went into my Moon Partol. It worked great, but I needed to move another game that day and it's monitor died..

My problem is, I can't find a monitor that works for this game.. All the monitors i've installed work, but they don't fill the width of the screen. I've tested these monitors in other games and they work fine, but when i hook it up to my moon, the image isn't filling the whole screen horizontally.. the right and left side has 2" that needs to be filled with picture.. none of the adjustments (width coil and others do anything!)..

I've tried (2) pcbs, and (2) power supplies.. just in case..

The monitor was a wells that I had in originally, did they make a specific one that works with moon patrols to fill the screen? Stupid question, but this is killing me.. thanks

Hey Pete, I've got a WG4900 horizontal that I recently capped and swapped the tube on (so it has zero burn). It's just sitting here collecting dust, so if you want to come pick it up and give it a shot just let me know. We can work out some kind of trade deal if you don't want to buy it outright.

nice...

Derry NH.. hehe, met some dirty girls at Hampton Beach back in the day from Derry... Your a bit of a haul for Longmeadow Ma, but I may just have to take the ride. Thanks, I'll PM you if nothing local pops up!

If it syncs fine, looks fine, etc, then you might try changing the width cap - http://www.therealbobroberts.net/width.html
Wells-Gardner K4900 Series - C365

Yup, that's it. The WG4903 used in Moon Patrol had a few factory mods done to it. The main one was that value of that cap.

From Wells documentation, the 4900 comes in two basic versions (there's "sub-versions" to these versions). We'll call them "old style" and "new style". Moon Patrol came with the new style. The easiest way to tell "new" from "old"....New style has an additional vertical damping pot, old style does not.

Additional change to the Moon Patrol monitor
C365 is changed to .15uf400V
horizontal centering jumper at point 30 is deleted.
