Moon Patrol Cocktail - from better to sahWEET.

Here's shots of my Moon Patrol (originally a Robotron) cocktail restoration. It was in very good shape before I started, but I'm a perfectionist when it comes to how my games look! Almost done with this one. I decided to keep it Moon Patrol since my kiddos love the game, and it was suggested (and I agree) that Robotron just wouldn't be that much fun all hunched over a cocktail cabinet. Might explain why so few were made.

I had a buddy make new control panels for it, and that's my 9 year old helping to remove the old woodgrain. I went with a cherry oak colored grain this time around. I think it updates it without it becoming too new.

Here's the current state. I have the coin door left to restore, and am waiting for Dokert on the new uber wiring harness.

Bingo. This is a Defender, but my door guts are identical.

I don't need it with the wires attached. The hacked harness has the coin door wires hard wired. I just need a reference for when I separate the wires, and install the new connectors.

The special connectors just came in last night btw, but the wire still has not shipped yet.

Cool. That pic above is missing the lights that go to the 1UP and 2UP parts of the coin door decal, and my buttons aren't lit.

From what I have seen all of the Williams CT's had lighted start buttons. Joust feeds the lighted start buttons to the control panel, and all of the others are setup like yours.

Ok...I do have lights, but they don't light the buttons. They light up the 1UP and 2UP in the decal. Didn't appear that I was missing any...maybe the lights are there but used differently based on the door? I would actually like the lights to be lit along with the 1UP/2UP, it's too easy to try to poke at the graphic when it's dark.

That's consistent with what I had to begin with when I received the CT. Works for me. I can make lit buttons a side project some day when I'm bored.

sorry to bump an old thread, but it looks like you guys know your williams cocktails...

i'm looking at one with the same 1up/2up graphic on it but the owner thinks it was originally a moon patrol not a robotron... has a 19 inch monitor now but who knows if that was changed... definitely the robotron looking 1up label, but the only other moon patrol cocktails i've seen pics of have either this label or the stargate style (white on black) label...

how did factory moon patrols come? does that label mean it was originally a robotron?
