Moon Patrol and Lunar Lander in a small collection

its all personal taste. Lunar lander was one of the first games I played. So it would make my short list for sure but they always seem pretty expensive on those rare occasions they show up.

So much talk about LL, but the one forsale on KLOV remains available at $2K. Interesting. :poke:

although many love the game - there are far fewer who are able or willing to spend that kind of money on it . plus shipping .

I recall seeing a fully restored one go for just over $1700..... That was the sale price. That was over a year ago, though, and some prices have been spiking.

I would think an "all original" one in really good shape would go higher, but not $4000.

You could walk into my house with a suitcase full of $100 bills, and I still wouldn't part with mine. I've had that thing 32 years, now... it ain't leaving mah culleckshuns!!

#nerdrage

What if I offered you fifty grand for yours?

The thing about top lists is that games might be at different places to enter than they are to exit. Neither Moon Patrol nor Lunar Lander would be in any danger of being bumped out in my 23 title gameroom.

However if I just picked my 23 games starting from nothing then neither one of them would probably be there. (I currently own Moon Patrol, never owned LL).

I feel like a game has to be a huge upgrade before it bumps out an existing, installed and stable title out of the gameroom.

Nope. And it's going in my will that it and Pole Position must remain together.

What if I seriously offered you $100K right now for it? And I mean you checked that money was there, etc?

I'll sell you mine for half that. And it also plays Asteroids and Asteroids Deluxe.

The wizard is known as BRAZE.
Only the enlightened have this. LOL

That's actually pretty brilliantly done! Not sure I could live with myself knowing an actual LL CP was cut like that, but if it's custom made..... I could see myself getting one.

I imagine the harness is different than either game, also.... yes?

The enlightened, or those like me whose Asteroids died (not kidding) just days after getting the Brasington kit in the mail. Seriously, the game knew it was going to get modded and decided to throw a fit. Haven't had time to chase it out, but before putting the kit in I want it working 100%. If I can get it going good with the 2 asteroids games, might take a look at getting some sort of analog control.

... Usually I don't like Frankenpanels but that one's pretty badass.

I agree. It looks like it is supposed to be that way. Very neat. Are those still available, or is it something that is going to involve pain & suffering ?

What fucking sorcery is THIS?!

It's a regular Asteroids PCB with this added:

http://brasington.org/arcade/products/adl/ (but don't email Scott since he's moving and the kit is still in beta).

and this:

http://www.gauck.com/arcade/ADL A2D/ (ready when Scott releases his kit).

and this:

http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=220083 (sorry, sold out)

and the overlay that goes with it:

http://www.thisoldgame.com/products/tog-multi-game-asteroids-cpo (which was a collaboration as seen in posts 155-201 of http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=220083 but some picts are missing).

Complete bad assery right there .

This is what I meant..... that CP is beautiful, and SO well done!

Hardware vs Software ... the ongoing battle.

Yes, the CP was done by Takeman. Silkscreened too, I believe. Surprised that only 18 multi's were in that thread.
The add-on board (to an AST or AST DLX PCB) was done by Braze. Limited qty availablity too.
You can play LL on a regular CP (no thruster) with the kit. Works well (enough).

Neglecting LL, I do like having the multi in my AST and AST DLX cabs. Playing Asteroids in an upright Deluxe, with the blacklight background, is kinda cool. :)

I don't even remember how I got the kit. IIRC, I sent an email a loooooong time ago, and then one day I got an invoice requesting payment. Had totally forgot about it. Got it I the mail some time later, and then Asteroids promptly died. Been in a box since. I have a AD in a warehouse, but no LL, and no space for all 3... so I suppose I should get cracking on getting it working.
