Hey guys,

I hope this is in the right spot.

Anyway, I am picking up a moon base cocktail later tonight and reportedly the only problem with it is that, when powered on, the game reboots over & over again. This sounds like it could be a problem with the power supply but I've never looked inside one of these before.

A buddy of mine who has far more experience than I said these Space Invaders clones do not have independent power supplies.

So I guess my question is, has anyone encountered anything like this before; specifically, in one of these or a similiar machine? Am I in for a ton of trouble? Are there any problems/issues that are typical with these machines?

I am just looking to grab a little info if I can. I'm only out 75 bucks so at the worst I can mame. The cab is in nice shape judging by the pics.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Usually this is caused by low power on the +5 or bad connections on the main connector or on the rom chips. You really have to open that thing up and look around and do some measurements, voltages, fuses, grounds and other stuff. Could be as simple as a dip switch or pinched wire.

Friends don't let friends mame.

No mame here. We picked it up tonight. Guy had a bunch of odds and ends in his basement, ended up taking home a monitor tube with Qbert burn, a Cyber Lip cartridge and a pretty good trackball with the capcom bowling specific ball in it in addition to the game.

The game didn't come up at all at the guys place, however I reseated the edge connectors before firing it up at my place and we saw no reset problems at all. The monitor would go strange sometimes, but other than that it was working good. We played a few games and left it running about a half hour.
