Monster Playchoice 10 Selloff

Why must I always see these AFTER my games are gone...

Really could use a Balloon Fight or a Super C if they come up, send me a pm.
I'd also like Mario Bros (original), but I just can't bring myself to pay $100+ for any Pc10 game.

LOL! That is what I thought originally too, but some of them you will never get, if you can't mentally break that barrier. That may be fine with you. The original mario brothers cart will be very tough to get for less than $100. It can be done, but you'd have to get lucky like I did when I bought a PC10 from some teen in Philly for $350 and it came with 10 games, including:

Mega Man 3
Ninja Gaiden 2
Captain Skyhawk
World Cup Soccer

and six others of which I don't think any were really duds, but just those four right there is easily $400 in carts.

Fortunately I'm ok with that...

You DID get lucky for that price, however I'm not ever going to go for "the whole set" as there are too many games there I'm genuinely not interested in playing. Personally I think Mario Bros will be the big issue for me as I think that makes an EXCELLENT arcade game, and most of the other rare ones, not so much and that's what I'm going for.

What I'm going for are NES gamers that more "arcade friendly" rather than the "console friendly" ones... Think of it this way, "If I were actually paying per minute to play these games, would I want to keep feeding money into Super Mario Bros 3, or Metroid or Mega Man?"

No, I'd rather have them on the console, and for me that means it's in a different room and a different "mindset".

Same Here.

I agree, but that's what I'm saying. You'll need to get lucky to get that game under $100.

I suppose it depends on how you define "grail game"

I'm sure there are plenty of people who are non-gamers that have their strongest childhood (gaming) memories associated with a NES. Probably SMB or Duck Hunt and to them there's potential it could be a grail game (then again the likely hood of them starting to collect is admittedly low).

LOL! I hope that means "grail game" within, playchoice games. I can't imagine any playchoice game would be a real "grail game". :D I could be wrong.

I suppose what defines a grail ?

For Playchoice collectors there are a few grails. Ninja Gaiden 3, RBI Baseball, Shatterhand. NG3 is the only one I know to be owned in private hands.

Kinda off topic, but when you say "Grail game" are you automatically assuming it's extremely rare and it's more about the hunt and acuisition because of it's rarity?

I've always used the term "Grail game" to refer to the ONE game you had the strongest memory or connection with... as in if you were only going to have 1 game EVER it would be x....

For me My grail game is the Ms Pacman Coctail table. Not particularly rare, but I expect it to be beside my bed in the nursing home some day as it's my grail game.
