I picked up my Monster Bash grail last week, and have started to make some changes/additions/mods/etc. There are still several other things I plan to do, but this thread should help keep me on task as far as getting them done.

The first changes were pretty subtle ones. I changed out the "Launch Ball" button with a "Rock Me" button from The Flintstones. I thought it was more appropriate given the the theme of the game:

There was a bit of scoop wear, so I put a Cliffy over it:

Then I swapped out the white flippers with a pair of boney flippers from Scared Stiff:

I know there are many purists who hate LEDs, but I think it really depends on the game. I've never been a fan of the way incandescent bulbs give a yellowing effect to the translite. Here's what my Monster Bash looked like with incandescent bulbs in the back box:

After seeing a thread from someone on Pinside who added LEDs, I followed suit. Most of the bulbs are white, but I also have some pinks in there, a yellow, a blue, and a green. I think it looks way better now (the pic makes it look washed out, but it's not. It is bright though!):

Laseriffic makes some pretty cool toppers. They just released one for Monster Bash through pinballlife.com, so I grabbed one. This thing looks so cool in person. It has color changing LEDs and a remote control, so I can make it pretty much any color I want. It's wired right in to the back box, so it powers on/off along with the game:

I saw that Krajkerjak had done the plasma disk mod on his $1,000,000 MB, and he was nice enough to make one for me. Just like the topper, this one's wired right up to the game. I should have taken a tighter picture of it, but you can spot it in the center of this photo:

That's all for now. Next up, I'll be adding LEDs to the playfield. I also plan to eventually add mirror blades.

I'm not a purist, I dig all the mods with the exception of the bones as flippers, because when I see them I think of scared stiff. The bone flippers with the monster theme is right, however it just doesn't work IMO. That's like putting bones over the ramps too much of a SS feel. Other wise all other mods look sick and I'm sure the LED's on the playfield will make it look like a brand new game. Despite what I said so long as you appreciate it and love it that's all that matters.

That would be like placing UFO's from AFM into a Space Invaders, see what I mean ? LED's and Custom toppers are one thing but once you start placing key parts from other machines and mixing and matching doesn't sit right with me for some reason.

I think it looks great !!! I think i agree about the flippers , the idea of the bones works but something just looks off about it. Just my opion though. Keep it up

I think it all looks badass, including the flippers. Monster theme, bone flippers, natural fit.
