Monster Arcade Pick on American Pickers Next Week

I think out of everybody on all these shows (with the exception of Paul Sr. maybe), ChumLee has done the best job of going from a nobody to a superstar. That guy will be able to make money off this for decades. I'll bet he's one of the hottest 'oh my god we got to pay this guy to come to our party next friday' people in Vegas. I'll bet he's pulling down thousands per appearance at places up and down the strip, all week long.

I got an interesting call today from one of my IC suppliers. He was asking me about an investment opportunity involving arcade and pinball machines. He goes on to tell me there are 500 machines and they are located in Texas. After listening to more details I said man that sounds like the warehouse(s) that were on Pickers this week. Sure enough he was working a deal for a buyout on all this stuff. The price per machine was pretty good but after running some numbers it was slim profit margins. Shipping is the deal killer in this case. If someone is local and wants to invest some money it could turn out to be a huge deal. Best case would be to buy the entire lot and work a deal to lease the warehouse they reside in. Cherry pick the restorable machines and flip/part the ones too far gone.

Riptor, I'd be interested in getting in on it. I live in TX and have some free time these days :)

What part of TX are they in? I figure the second warehouse is down near the coast based on the comments about Hurricanes. Not sure where the first one was...

Right now he is still debating on going down and checking it out. I did ask him to pass the contact on to me if he decided to bail. Not that im interested but I know someone that might be. If it were local I would be all over it.

Well I'm interested so pass the info along. Consider it an investment in good Karma ;)

Lost Cause

I have been there. It's a waste of time.

Do you really think something like that could just be sitting there in Houston/Sugarland/Rosenberg and nobody knows about it? If you are into 70's pins in below avg to bad condition, battery acid dmg on all the bally mpu's,missing parts and burnt displays and crazing backglasses then by all means someone buy this stuff. They are super nice people.

Thats pretty much what I told him. What I saw on the show didnt look like it was in very good condition. I saw alot of flaking artwork, missing parts etc.
I dont know where the place is other than its in Texas somewhere. I can tell you my buddy said he had no problem getting in contact with them just by poking around on the net and making a couple phone calls...if anyone wants to pursue it.

I get a kick out of "Storage Wars". I haven't seen one yet where they find anything arcade-related, but I know people who have bought units with arcade games in them. It is really interesting what stuff can be found in storage units.

Oh, and Brandi on the show is pretty darned easy on the eyes... :001_sdrool:
