Can anybody help me trace the source of my problem. I have a 25in zenith monitor in my Williams cabinet. when I turn the power on I can here the monitor start to charge for a second then it just cuts out. I am new to working on monitors so I don't know what to look for. Could it be the screen, tube, chassis or all three?

Thanks,
Will

yes, it is a k7000 series. I am going to go out on a limb here and assume that hv shutdown is a bad thing.

I just found a few links to k7000 troubleshooting and repair. Before I wast anymore of your time I should probably read a little more.
One more question though. Before the screen was having its current issue I was getting horizontal lines though the screen, one about every inch and a half. Do you know what this may be a symptom of? They were noticeable but not bad to the point where it affected game play on my golden tee

Could be the screen voltage being turned up too high. Could also be the flyback about to crap out.

It sounds like you're in shutdown. Check the B+ voltage.
