I have a 13" Sega MC 2000 monitor which I bought along time ago to use for a test bench. It says that it needs 100v to operate so way back when I bought a transformer that was suppose to be 100v. Fast forward to know, I am working on a pcb and need to make a test bench using the 13" monitor, the transformer has 3 lugs on top and 2 on the bottom. I assumed the bottom 2 are for power in so that is where I connected the power and the 3 lugs for output to the monitor. When I turn it on and use my meter if I use the meter to test the middle and outter lugs I get 70v and if I put the meter probes on the outter lugs I get 140v. I connected the trasfomer to the monitor with 70v and it powers up but the screen is wavy, does that mean there isn't enought output to the monitor from the transfomer since it is only supplying 70v and the monitor needs 100v or will it be okay to use? Should I be on the hunt for a new transformer that puts out 100v like a nintendo transfomer?
