I just got a monitor to put in my Golden Tee but not sure if it working or not. I have a Tube in the Cab now with no chassis( I sent it to be looked at). Can I hook up the monitor I just recieved on a table next to the Cab to see if it is working before I pull the old tube? I just dont want to get hurt or fry a good monitor. Hope this is not to much of a Noob question just want to learn the right way to do things.

Thanks

Toby

Yes. Make sure and plug the new monitor into the cab's monitor power connector, just in case you need an isolation transformer. And make sure the cab HAS an isolation transformer if your new monitor needs one.

You may have to cut some wire wraps to get all the cables to reach your new monitor, but as long as you stay away from anything high voltage while you turn it on, you should be fine...

Thanks again Mod.

Hey the Isolation Transformer is what I circled in red right? Just making sure.

If you use the connector that went to your old monitor's power connection to power the new monitor you should be ok.

Ok,

Everything went great but, about 15 holes into golden tee I heard a pfffsht. And then a smell and quick screen shrink then the game kept playing fine. I turned it off looked inside and could see nothing. A little smell. Turned it back on everything was fine. I don't know what happened. Any ideas. I need help. I was winning.

Thanks Toby

WG K7000. I need to pull the Chassis and check it over then. I s there any other things it could be? If a Cap is in backwards what does it look like after its been powered on?

There are lots of things it could be, but the fact it still worked indicates nothing overly serious.
If it was a cap you should see the top bowed up and maybe a small crack in the top of the can.

C56 and C57 are two of the most common caps to be changed, so start there.
