Monitor swap out WG7000 vs a Dell 21" Trinitron Computer monitor.

I just ordered a vert 60 in 1 pcb. Currently, my cabinet is set-up horiz and has the WG K7000. After, looking over the 60 in 1 board I just ordered I realized that it had a VGA connection therefore it can be hooked to a comp monitor. I thought odd damn I've got a nice 21" Dell CRT flat-screen that's been in my basement unused for years. After, some research this evening I found out that my Dell Utrascan p1110 has a Hi res Sony Flat-screen Trinitron tube and chassis. Since I was rotating the monitor in the cab I figured what the heck go ahead and upgrade. Although I seen a bunch of threads on the net and people was saying older games like, Ms pac, galaga, dk, etc, etc, etc, look block-like and crappy on high res monitors. Have any of you all on here run into this problem?

It just depends on how much of a purist are you. With the arcade monitor there will be little imperfections that most people who grew up playing these games are familiar with. With the pc monitor you will have a very clear picture without any real noticable lines between the pixels. To some this looks too perfect and not right. I suggest you try both and see which you prefer since it is your game. It also depends on which monitor will fit better in your cabinet.

Good point!!! I was going to swap them out to-nite although im gonna hold off now and do a test run first. I would have been gripped if I had put that 70lb "its real weight" beast in my cab then turn right around and take it back out cause Ms Pac looked like lego block going around the maze. Thanks for heads up I bout jumped the gun on this one!
