Im trying to print out some shipping labels and did some cross checking on prices, and the prices for all three services, USPS, UPS, and Fed Ex are all real close to each other in prices. Im trying to decide which one is best to ship all these monitors.

I have shipped a bunch of megatouchs using both UPS and FedEx, but never shipped an item this size through USPS.

Thought, experience? the easiest is USPS for me, but if there has been a bunch of bad luck with them, then ill not use them

thanks

I hear people bash UPS, but I've never had an issue with them or their shipping dates. FedEx tends to be a little less for FedEx Home Delivery and I have had equally good response. On the other hand, I have had two packages (not monitors - one package to Canada and one to Mass.) go missing and never delivered.

I have had 2 monitors broke by UPS, and 4 delivered without a scratch with Fedex!! JMO!! Unless your shipping to Canada, then its way to spendy!!

I always use FedEx, they have been good to me and I have never had a problem. Anytime I have had something damaged claims have been smooth and they over night the checks right away.

UPS - Only had a monitor shipped once and it arrived broken (box looked like it was dropped many times) by UPS (they did get the replacement to me without breaking it) But I have received many boxes crushed using UPS. Not dented, but Crushed.

USPS is generally OK, but smaller items in those bubblewrap bags are always crushed. Just received two invisible shield boxes for the iPhone4 that look like the bubble wrap bag was run over with a truck. They are flat and the spray bottles popped open. Also years ago when I used to sell posters, I found they always bent or crushed the poster tube.

FedEx has never been a problem, have shipped many computers (including iMacs which include a monitor) with no problems.

Just my findings...

Over the years I've received damaged packages from every carrier. IMO there are only two things that matter when it comes to shipping:

1) Pack the box to survive a 4 foot drop on concrete. This is tough in the case of monitors but it can be done.

2) If the item is quite fragile, like monitors, send it via a service that is two to three days. Sending a fragile item via parcel post/UPS ground just means there is more time for your package to break in transit.

FWIW I received a 19" tube via UPS last month with no problems. It was sent in the original monitor box so the neck was protected.

UPS broke my 25" amp. FedEX is the way I ship now.

Buy a bunch of monitor shipping boxes from hawkeye tube in Iowa, that will go a long way towards protecting them during shipping.

I'll only ship with FedEx now. The best package tracking out there and they're fairly fast. As someone else said, this is only for the US, if shipping to Canada, use someone else - they're too expensive for that.

If you get $500 of insurance at Fedex. Thats only a few dollars more, they will open the box and inspect it. if it needs more packing material they will add it. then if anything happens, it will be much easier in the claim process!!
